Rostelecom says meeting government’s rules of data storage hard
MOSCOW, Apr 20 (PRIME) -- Russian state-controlled telecom operator Rostelecom will find it rather difficult to fulfil the recently approved requirements of the data retention law because of a lack of certified equipment, press secretary Andrei Polyakov said late on Thursday.
“Since the market lacks certified equipment and in view of the scale of the company’s infrastructure, it will be hard for Rostelecom to respect demands of the rules,” Polyakov said.
The government finally approved the rules of information storage by connection operators, under which companies must fully retain traffic for the previous 30 days from October 1 during the period of six months and then raise storage capacities by 15% annually.
